Between doctor appointments & trying to keep up with life the past few weeks there hasn't been much time for blogging.  But here are a few pictures from the past week or so.  We are hoping K & J are able to kick their nasty colds before Thanksgiving.  And I really am hoping I don't end up with it because I am ready for all the good food later this week especially the kraut that we only get on the holidays.
K found a comfy spot to watch football while Jake took a nap.

K's art projects she made with her cousins.  She was so proud of what she had made.

K ready to go to a baby shower in Pratt this past Saturday (she put her boots the wrong feet).  At first she thought we would actually take a shower she I started calling it a baby party.  Well she was a little disappointed there was no baby there & once we explained it was still in its mommy's tummy she announced that her mommy has a baby in her tummy also.  The best was when Sara was opening the gift we got the baby K hollered from the back "he like it he like it".

Never too cold to ride a scooter for K.  She has gotten so good on the scooter.  At first she had to push it around but she is really starting to figure out how to get going.  Determined little thing.

We had a fun family trip to Manhattan, KS today to cheer on the Cats!  It was K's very first K-State basketball game.  For the first 20 minutes or so she didn't know what to think & held on tight to mommy & daddy but she started to warm up to the idea right before half time.  She was cheering & dancing by the time we left.  She did an amazing job & we were very impressed with how she behaved especially since we had to wake her up from her nap to get to the game in time.  K-State won the game so that made for a good time as well:)  It was a great day & we had fun from the time we left to the time we got home.

It's a....

Bye bye pink clothes & hair bows this time around.  The Wilkens are having a boy!!!  We just found out on Monday at our sonogram.  It will be exciting to have one of each.

K riding one of her cousin's scooters.  If she is outside at grandma's house you can bet she will be on a scooter.

K found this in our closet & has been playing it this week.  Watch out in case we play again this year at Grammy's house.

K singing for everyone at her cousins birthday party.

Who knew a box would be so much fun.  K added pretty decorations to this box all last night.

Daddy's little helper.

Fairy...

J did K's makeup for Halloween.  What a good daddy:)

Our little fairy.

Next year we are not having another costume with wings.  Second year in a row for wings & they don't work well with car seats.  It was a fun night for K!  J & I are still enjoying the candy as well!

2nd Trimester

We have finally reached the 2nd trimester of this pregnancy.  I am 13 weeks as of today with baby #2.  I am feeling much better than a few weeks ago.  I am just excited that food actually sounds good once again!!!  I receive emails each week from a couple of different sites that update us on the baby's growth.  It's pretty interesting to read about the development each week.

Here are a few facts I found interesting:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips.

The baby's organs, nerves, and muscles have formed and are beginning to work together.

Baby is about the length of a plum.

Vocal chords develop.

Your baby's circulatory system helps clear toxins from her body.

Baby's head probably is about half the size of her body.

Loooong Weekend of Potty Training

I decided on last Thursday it was time to try out the big girl panties on K again.  So starting Friday morning bye bye to diapers & we began potty training.  K did excellent & picked up really fast.  She only had a few  accidents during the weekend & didn't have any while we were out Trick or Treating.  She has made it every night so far without wetting the bed & has had only one accident during a nap.  Our big problem though she won't go #2 on the potty so we are going to try out a few tricks this week to fix this issue.  It was an exhausting progress but I am very thankful she did such a great job.  I just hope she keeps it up because that girl has a mind of her own.

Trick or Treating was a hit again this year with K.  She even wore her costume Monday morning again.  I will hopefully get some time to post a few pictures tonight.  She was one cute fairy!
