This commerical reminded me of a little girl & her daddy at our house.

29 weeks...

29 weeks:
Baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds & is just over 15 inches long from head to heel.  Like a butternut squash.
Your baby already might be within almost 3 inches of his birth length, although he still has weight to gain to fill out.
During the next 11 weeks, he might more than double or almost triple his current weight. Much of this weight gain will happen as he gains important weight under his skin.
His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain.

I didn't have an appointment this week but will go back in next Wednesday at 30 weeks.  I really like the sound of 30 weeks.  K was expected yesterday because we received a box from Target full of things for baby brother.  She went through everything about 10 times to check it all out.  I better get it all put up before it ends up on her baby dolls!

Ivan...

Sad day at our house today.  We had to put ivan down this morning due to a large tumor on his spleen.  He wasn't in much pain yet but we didn't want him to start to suffer.  He hasn't been doing well since Sunday.  Jake took him to the vet this morning & stayed with him.  Well miss him lots especially during harvest when Jake is working long hours.  He was in trouble a lot but always was a good dog for us.

Ivan ready to go tailgating.  Best years of his life there in Manhattan.

Buddies.  I haven't taken K out to the garage yet because I know there is going to be lots of questions.  Might wait to Jake is home to tackle this.  We had kept her away from him this week just because we didn't know how he would respond if he was in any pain.  But Jake took her out last night to let her see him one last time.

K had a little accident making more bread this week.  I didn't think she looked to upset about it but more proud that she was dirty.

Attacked by a fairy..

K watching & waiting for the perfect time to attack.

Got him!!!

Not letting go.  I just love that she has on her tutu while she wrestles the boys.

Friends again.  They watched tv like this for awhile.  Whatever works.
Okay so this is from last weekend.  Running behind again on my post.  But here is a picture of K working on her Valent ine cards.

7:06 pm

Not a good time to finally take a nap.

Baking bread...

K was so proud of the bread she made at her grandma's house the other morning.

It was actually really yummy & she got lots of complimants.  I about feel over when she let Jake have the last piece.  She monitored the bread the entire time to see who ate what.

I'm the Princess

Only missing her high heels which she put on a few minutes later.  She took one of her baby's bibs that had been hers when she was little.  It states "I'm the Princess. We'll do things my way."  Very fitting still till this day!!!

She is really into getting fancy lately.  Last night she got all dressed up to go eat at Kiowa.  I had on a purple shirt, jean & my no rth face jacket & Jake said I didn't have to get dressed up myself to go eat.  Can't tell we haven't been out of the house or comfy clothes lately.

More snow pictures.  K just wants to be out there playing.  As soon as Jake got home from work last night she headed out to play more.  She showed us how she learned to make snow angels.  The drifts are so deep she gets stuck at times.  No fear though jumping off of piles into new piles.
Good pals.

Yes that is K eating the snow.  She loves to eat the snow.

All bundled up.
K having a good time.  There are foot prints all over our yard as well now.

K eating some snow with her cousins.
Another good check up today.  No change from last week which is great news.  J went along which was good because we got to see the little guy again.  Even a few pictures in 3-D which was awesome because you can really see what he looks like.  They sent us home with a CD of photos so I posted a few below.  He is 2 lbs 5 oz right now which K was 2 lbs 12 oz at 28 weeks so not far off.  Doctor is pretty happy as well with how well things are going.  K didn't get to go along because of the weather today.  She enjoyed playing in the snow instead.  I will post pictures of that later.  She even got me to take her out again later in the afternoon.  Guess she will just have to wait till the next regular sonogram to see her little brother (pretzel) again.  Oh yeah he is breech right now so if I would go into labor while he is like this a c-section would have to be done.  He will most likely flip a few more times before he is delivered though.  So we will just have to see what happens.
Side of his face.

Heart & heartbeat along the bottom.  148 bpm which is great for this far along.

Face with his leg up by his head.

Front of his face with his leg blocking part of it.  Flexible little guy.  His eyes are swolling still & their noses are bigger than other features on their face at this point.  Remember K's nose was like this at first also.  It was crazy to see these pictures because this is close to what K looked like when she was born.  His ribs were really noticable just like her has been.

27 Weeks

27 Weeks

Trying to take it really easy this week since this is the week I started to go into labor with Kin.  Jake is taking me to my appointment tomorrow so he is there to talk to the doctor as well.  Hopefully the weather isn't as bad as today.  Kin & I aren't leaving the house for sure today.  J had to take hay out west & I will be glad once he makes it back to town.

Baby weighs almost 2 pounds & is about 14-1/2" long.  Like a head of cauliflower.
Baby is as much as four times longer than she was during the 12th week of pregnancy.
He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes.
With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now.
His lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. (Goes to show this isn't all accurate considering K came out breathing on her own!)
Can start to feel any hiccups the baby is having.
Baby gets very active at 27 weeks pregnant.

Third Trimester starts at 29 weeks so that is what we are looking forward to this week!  I am also excited to see the little guy tomorrow at my sonogram.  So neat to see him moving around & see how big he is getting.

A little 3 year old boy at the super bowl party looked at me & said "your having a baby!"  I said yes & K started hollering at him "it's my baby brother!"  Already protective of him & he isn't even here yet.

Busy Weekend...

Friday night we decided to head over the HHS vs. Quivira Heights bball game.  Jake wanted to see the gym one last time before they change it to consolidate next year.  K really enjoyed herself at the game.  She did a really good job especially since we got there early & had to sit through most of the girls game also.  She thought it was great because they had ice cream cones at the concession stand.  The required a trip to the bathroom to clean up after she ate but she really enjoyed it.

Saturday night we took K up to the school carnival.  She tried out a few different games.  The bowling game & the sucker tree were her favorites.  But she was ready to go home after awhile.  It was pretty cute because she wanted to walk around holding my & Jake's hands.  I think Jake had the most fun though because he got to talk to everyone there:)

Sunday night we went to a Super Bowl party at my cousins house.  There were tons of kids running around & K had a blast.  We didn't see her much of the night because she was in the play room with all the other kids.  Except at half time when they all danced around the living room together.  K was the last kid awake at the party last night.  Her daddy got wrapped up in cards so we stayed late but she sat & played blocks by herself till it was time to go.

K hasn't had a fun weekend like this since Christmas.  Pretty sure we have been in bed & asleep by 9:30 every Friday night since than.  Sorry no pictures but I didn't think to take my camera along at all.

It took over an hour...

It took over an hour to get K down for a nap Wednesday afternoon but this is how she finally feel asleep.  I was very thankful yesterday only took about 15 minutes.
Nothing like a good dance party while getting dinner ready.  It's a must to have high heels & a tutu on.

26 weeks & waffles

I was on a Sonic kick a few weeks ago but now I can't get enough waffles.  These were a couple I ate mid afternoon the other day.  K has been enjoying them for breakfast herself.  Goes great with her frozen blueberries she loves to eat.  Probably eat a couple for dinner tonight after seeing this picture.  And I normally am not a big breakfast food person but pregnancy does some weird things to your body that is for sure.

We have finally arrived at 26 weeks!!!!!
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other.
He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air.
He's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take two to three days.

I had another good check up at the doctor today.  The length of my cervix had changed just a little bit but not much at all.  Thank goodness no drastic changes like after the holidays.  We went over reasons why I should come in to the office even if it's a false alarm again & a couple different options for if he does come early.  Wouldn't it be great if we could just deliver in GB & bring the little guy straight home!  So glad my doctor takes the time to discuss things ahead of time so we aren't surprised last minute though.  But lets just keep praying the little guy stays put.  Just ready to be past the next few weeks & at least get to 30 weeks so we can relax a little bit more.  I just really don't want to end up in Wichita having to leave K behind but if it is what is best for his health & mine we will do it & get through it like we always do.

I am excited for next weeks appointment also because we will get to see the little guy moving all around again.  They are wanting to check his measurements & see how he is doing.  The last few times they have just checked the length of my cervix & not checked on him during the sonogram.  The doctor just listen to his heartbeat each time though.  If Jake can come along we might take K along so she can see her little brother in action.
Last week it was actually nice enough to play outside in the afternoon.  It was great to get some fresh air.  K told me she missed her toys that we keep outside.

K telling me a story about the birds eating their food.

Taking a drink of her Sprite she had gotten as a treat at Pizza Hut that day for lunch.  Satruday night my friend, her daughter, K & I ate at Pizza Hut while the guys were playing cards & K couldn't figure out where the pizza was.  I finally realized she has only been to Pizza Hut at lunch or Wednesday nights when there is buffet.  She didn't realize you actually have to order & wait there.  Because if we ever order out we always just pick it up & bring it home.
K once we got her big girl bed set up in her room.  We already moved it to the other side of the room where it fits better.  Her room has turned into our hang out spot.  She is loving it with her new carpet.  I wish we would have done it sooner because it so much warmer & a good place for her to play now.

J reading books to K before bedtime.

K looking at all the cards she got when she was born.  It kept her entertained for a few days going through them over & over.

Static

Guess our house had some dry air in it from the fire place the other day.  K's hair was cray after wrestling around with her daddy.

Little late

Here is a video of K getting her first gift at Christmas from Santa.  She got faster at opening gifts during the next few days.
